Please join us for a screening of the documentary film, No Matter Where: The quest to use technology to connect healthcare, which explores the vulnerabilities of antiquated health information systems and the actions doctors must take to store and access the information of their patients. A reception with food and drinks will take place an hour prior to the screening with a panel discussion on the promise and practicalities of health information exchanges to follow. This event is sponsored by the Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics program at the University of Chicago Graham School for Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies and the Center for Research Informatics at the University of Chicago. Film Description: The No Matter Where documentary brings alive the concept of trusted electronic exchange of health information and its importance to effective and safe healthcare. The film explores the promise and the challenges of using biomedical informatics (information science and technology) to allow healthcare professionals and patients to appropriately access and securely share a patient’s vital medical information electronically. The 76-minute film tells the story from the perspective of a wide range of stakeholders including healthcare digital leaders, Hurricane Katrina survivors, and many others. The filmmaker, Kevin B.
